Why Do We Lie?

By Danny Boice - You’re probably familiar with the classic Disney Movie Pinocchio. This movie is about Pinocchio, a wooden marionette carved by Geppetto. Pinocchio dreams of becoming a real boy and through the magical powers of Jiminy, the cricket, Pinocchio gets to become a real boy… if only for a while. Through his adventures it comes about that every time he lies his nose will grow bigger. In Pinocchio’s story he was usually lying to get out of trouble, which many kids do, or maybe even adults who are pulled over for speeding.

The Third Way: Passive Resistance

By Danny Boice - Newton’s third law clearly states, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”.  If someone insults you on the Internet, how exactly would you be expected to leverage the emotions associated with your reaction in an adaptive and productive way? During difficult times, we must make a conscious decision to either show resilience by adapting to our present circumstances, or fall backwards into depression.

Are LinkedIn Resumes Full of Shit?

But as a hiring manager I’ve reached a level of saturation where the word fights its way out of my mouth. I’ve had it and at this stage truth wins over primness. LinkedIn resumes are full of shit.
